An overnight dump of snow has delayed the opening of one of Edmonton’s golf courses.

Kevin Hogan with the Victoria Golf course said Friday was not the opening day they had planned.

“They were putting flags in today, until the snow came. We got the course all cleaned up. We were all ready to go. It was like going to the dance and your date didn't show up.”

Yet, not everyone was disappointed by the spring snow.

“I always end up going skibiking on Easter weekend,” Dustin Cyganik explained.

“So I wasn’t surprised to see it but excited.”

However, Douglas and Nicole Scallion were hoping they had seen the last of the winter weather, only to discover mobility problems return.

“It's really hard because pushing around a wheelchair is very challenging,” Nicole explained.

According to Envirnoment Canada Saturday is expected to be sunny with a high of 9 degrees Celsius, which could prove good news for Hogan.

“We're just waiting for nature to give us the go-ahead.

“All we need is a little sun and heat and we’ll be up and running.”
