Police in St. Albert are seeking witnesses to a weekend assault at a pub in that city.

RCMP said on Saturday, August 12, at about 1:30 a.m., a confrontation took place at the Blind Pig Pub in St. Albert.

It’s alleged a male suspect was involved in an argument, and it turned into a “shoving match” with another male near the bathroom in the basement of the pub.

Later on, the second man was approached by the first suspect and another suspect, who reportedly said “no one pushes my brother around” and then punched the man in the jaw.

The first suspect has been described as:

  • Aboriginal male
  • About 170 cm (5’7”) tall
  • Weighing about 72.6 kg (160 lbs)

He had short dark hair and was wearing a blue jacket.

The second suspect has been described as:

  • Caucasian male
  • Dark hair, about 2 inches long and spiked
  • Little bit of facial hair

This suspect was wearing a dark shirt and dark pants at the time.

The man who was involved in the confrontation and later punched, identified as a 35-year-old Caucasian man, left the pub and later sought medical treatment for serious, but non-life threatening injuries to his jaw.

St. Albert RCMP are asking anyone with information on the incident, or who witnessed the confrontation, or anyone involved in case to contact police, as they investigate. Those with details are asked to call 780-458-7700.
