RCMP west of Edmonton are investigating, after a man was killed in a highway collision Wednesday morning.
Stony Plain RCMP said the collision took place on Highway 627 between Range Road 280 and Range Road 275 in Parkland County at about 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Police said a semi-tractor trailer pulling a flat-deck trailer collided with an eastbound car.
The driver of that car was pronounced dead at the scene – he was identified as Brian Joseph Klapatiuk, 49, from Stony Plain.
Investigators said drugs and alcohol don’t appear to be a factor – and road conditions at the time are described as wet, with blowing snow.
