Strathcona County residents are being asked to limit water use between April 29 and May 1 while the main water supply line to the area is moved to allow for construction on the Anthony Henday.

The affected areas include Sherwood Park, Ardrossan, Josephburg, Josephburg Co-Op, Half Moon Lake, Callingwood Lake, Antler Lake, and rural residents of Strathcona County that receive water from a pipe, and not from a well or private water supply.

During this period, residents are asked to refrain from watering lawns and gardens, washing vehicles, or filling pools, hot tubs or large aquariums. You can also help by taking a short shower instead of a bath, and making sure toilet leaks are repaired.

“Using as little water as possible will help make sure our community’s water supply will last should the construction take longer than anticipated,” Jeff Hutton, Director of Utilities said in a written release.

Updates on construction will be posted on the county’s website. Residents can also call 780-417-2398 for more information.
