A second person has been arrested in connection with the death of a Red Deer man who was killed trying to stop two thieves from stealing his truck.

A Canada-wide warrant was issued for Alexander Michael Talbot of Red Deer Friday afternoon and within three hours the 24-year-old man was arrested.

Dawson (D.J.) Wegner Cramer, 23, was found injured on March 16 in an alley behind his Red Deer home.

RCMP said Cramer had tried to stop two men from taking his 2001 Ford F-650 when he was struck by his own vehicle.

The Calgary Medical Examiner Office determined Wegner died as the result of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

The truck was later found about three kilometres away, where witnesses spotted two suspects running into a wooded area.

On Thursday, Mounties charged Amanda Jo-Lynn Larsen, 27, of Red Deer with possession of stolen property over $5,000 in connection with the theft.

Talbot, 24, was arrested on charges of manslaughter and theft of Wegner’s vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Red Deer City RCMP Detachment at 403-343-5575 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
