RCMP said Tuesday afternoon that the suspect believed to have killed three people near Edson over the weekend, had been shot by police as officers attempted to arrest him.

Edson RCMP said officers were trying to execute an arrest warrant for Mickell Clayton Bailey, 19, of Edson at the time.

The warrant was for two charges of first degree murder for the deaths of Roxanne Berube, and an unidentified teenaged girl, and a charge of second degree murder in connection to the death of Daniel Miller.

Investigators said the victims and the suspect knew eachother.

RCMP said Bailey was shot by police Tuesday, and at last word was being taken to hospital in Edmonton for treatment of his injuries – no one else was injured.

The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) has been called to the scene to investigate the incident.
