Edmonton police said a man is in custody, a day after police issued a Canada-wide warrant for his arrest.

Police said Collin James Courteoreille, 20, turned himself in to Stony Plain RCMP Tuesday afternoon without incident.

His arrest came after Edmonton police issued a warrant for his arrest on a number of firearms related charges.

The charges stem from the shooting death of Sylvin St. Pierre, 20, on August 25 – he was shot in an apartment suite in the area of 105 Street and 83 Avenue.

The Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy on Friday, August 29, and said the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head.

Courteoreille is in custody of Edmonton police, he’s expected to appear in court September 11.
