RCMP said a man in his 20s, believed to have been behind a number of robberies throughout western Canada has been arrested in Grande Prairie.

Grande Prairie RCMP said on Thursday, at about 2:30 p.m., the RCMP Serious Crimes Branch said a 26-year-old male was arrested a motel in the area of 109 Street and 100 Avenue in Grande Prairie.

It’s believed the man is a suspect in a number of robberies in southern Alberta, Saskatchewan, and recently in Dawson Creek, BC.

RCMP said the suspect will be held in custody and brought before the court to deal with charges related to his arrest.

More information on the case is expected Monday, February 2.
