Police in northern Alberta said Friday that an extensive investigation had resulted in the arrest of a third suspect in connection to the slaying of a Grande Prairie man in the summer of 2014.

Grande Prairie RCMP said Thomas Sutton, 43, a Tumbler Ridge, B.C. man was facing a charge of second degree murder in the death of Devin Pisch, 27, on June 25, 2014.

Sutton is the third suspect to be arrested and charged in connection to the homicide – Pisch was found dead in an area south of Grande Prairie called ‘Cutbank’ by RCMP officers responding to complaints of gunshots in the area.

An autopsy confirmed Pisch had died as a result of gunshot wounds.

In July, 2014, RCMP said Jerrid Rychard, 35, and Gregory Decker, 33, had been arrested and charged in connection to the death – they faced a number of firearms related charges.

Police said Sutton was arrested in B.C. on November 5, at last word he was being transported from Tumbler Ridge to appear before a Justice of the Peace in Alberta.
