Edmonton police have laid charges against three people, connected to the death of a man in his 20s in March, 2012.

Homicide investigators said a number of charges have been laid against the trio for their alleged role in the stabbing death of Billy Canh Ho, 25, on March 6, 2012.

Ho was stabbed in a parking lot on 51 Avenue and Calgary trail at about 2:30 a.m. that day – it’s then believed his vehicle was stolen by two of the accused, and found burning near Highway 16 and Highway 43 later that morning.

Trevor Legge, 30, of Whitecourt, and Edward O’Halligan, 27, of Edmonton are each facing charges of second-degree murder, robbery and arson.

Investigators told the press Wednesday that Ho’s death is believed to be drug-related.

“From the start of the investigation, the belief was that Billy Ho met Trevor Legge and Edward O’Halligan in the restaurant parking lot, on the pretext of a drug transaction,” Staff Sgt. David Christoffel said Wednesday.

In addition, Kristen Dawn Farrar, 32, also of Whitecourt, is facing charges of accessory after the fact to murder, arson, and breach of undertaking given to a peace officer.
