A local man charged in a national child exploitation bust will head to trial on Monday.

Alexi Morin from the Enoch First Nations was one of eight Alberta men arrested as a result of the operation.

Officials said that five children were rescued as a result of their investigation, which began in February of 2014.

Operation Snapshot III targeted high-risk offenders who collect, possess, share, make available, distribute and produce child sexual exploitation material online.

Over 160 investigations were conducted by municipal, provincial and federal police services.

Hundreds of computer and hard drivers were seized along with nearly two million images or videos.

Morin’s trial will begin March 2 in Stony Plain Provincial Court.
