Truck breaks into Cold Lake grocery store, attempts to steal empty ATM

A truck backed through the glass doors of a grocery store in Cold Lake in an attempt to steal an ATM Thursday night, RCMP said.

Mounties were dispatched to the Cold Lake Sobeys at approximately 11:15 p.m. after a red or burgundy F250 truck reversed into the store and tried to steal the ATM with a tow rope.

Police said the two suspects then realized that the money machine was empty and fled the scene with the door of the store still attached to the truck, and without the ATM.

The suspect truck had no front bumper and a black tailgate, RCMP said.
