Edmonton police said two people were charged, after a traffic stop in mid-July led officers to find a weapon and drugs.

Police said at about 11:45 p.m. on Monday, July 13, officers stopped a vehicle that was suspected of being stolen in the area of 118 Avenue and Wayne Gretzky Drive.

Officers eventually searched the vehicle, and found a loaded gun, along with 1.2 Grams of methamphetamine, 3 grams of cocaine and about 7.8 grams of heroin.

A total of 23 charges have been laid against Christopher Jonathan Hamm, 38, and Janine Mitchell, 33 – including possession of stolen property, drug possession and firearms charges.
