RCMP east of Edmonton announced Monday that charges had been laid against two people stemming from an incident that left one dead and another injured at the end of 2014.

Strathcona County RCMP said Shane Terry Tym, 28, of Chilliwack, B.C. and Sarah Jane Posthumus, 29, of Tara, Ontario are facing charges of first degree murder and attempted murder.

It’s alleged the pair was involved in the slaying of Adrian Gregory of Ottawa, and the attempted murder of Jeremy Pershaw.

The charges came following investigation into an incident that took place December 30, at an industrial park located off of 34 Street in Strathcona County.

Officers were called to the scene after a vehicle fire was reported just before 1 a.m.

Police said the two victims, Gregory and Pershaw, were shot and the vehicle connected to the incident was set on fire.

Investigators determined it was not a random shooting.

Police said Posthumus was arrested and charged on March 17 in Port Elgin, Ontario, and Tym was arrested in Chilliwack, B.C. on May 29. Posthumus was released on bail in Ontario – her court date in Strathcona County had not been set, Tym is in custody in B.C., and is expected to be returned to Alberta Wednesday.

RCMP said they’re not looking for any other suspects.
