Edmonton police are searching for three male suspects following an alleged home invasion in the city’s northend.

Acting Staff Sgt. Colleen Maynes told CTV News the home invasion occurred at a residence in the area of 179 Avenue and 99 Street around 3 a.m. Friday.

She confirmed that a man and woman, believed to be in their 20s, went to Northeast Community Health Centre with serious injuries.

The two showed up at the centre bound, gagged and beaten.

Due to the seriousness of the situation the medical centre went into lockdown.

Police confirmed that three others showed up at the health clinic around the same time with serious stab wounds but they do not believe the incidents are related.

The male victim has remained in hospital while the woman has been released.

Officials said another man and woman, in their 20s, were also hurt during the home invasion but that they suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Maynes could not confirm if the alleged attack was gang related but said that some of those involved are known to police.
