A landmark west of Edmonton came down in a huge cloud of dust Thursday August 11, 2011.
At around 8:00 am, the TransAlta Wabamun power plant was imploded and CTV Edmonton was there to watch as a demolition crew brought the building down.
Originally built in 1956 and utilizing the latest in coal-fired technology at the time, the power plant was decommissioned in 2010.
