Another breezy day for the Capital Region & other parts of Central Alberta.

Wind continued to gust to 40km/h overnight & should be 20 gusting to 40 for most of today.

Temperatures stay above average.

Highs should be in the mid to high teens across the Capital Region & surrounding areas.

Saturday looks like it'll come in with a daytime high of 17 or 18 as well.

So...that'll give us an average high of at LEAST 15.0 (probably a couple tenths of a degree warmer)

We'll have the official number for you on Monday.

But...it looks like this'll be the warmest April in Edmonton since hitting 14.6 in 2006.

And...it'll be the 3rd-hottest April in Edmonton in the past 50 years.

The only years with a hotter April are 1980 (16.7) and 1977 (16.0)

The 30-year average high for April is 11.2 degrees.

So...

This is now the 7th consecutive warmer-than-average month.

Edmonton had an "average" month in September.  The last cooler-than-average month was February 2015.

May looks like it'll start off even hotter.

Daytime highs should be in the 20s for most (probably all) of the first 7 or 8 days of May.
