Edmonton police said a suspicious death over the weekend had been confirmed to be Edmonton’s 33rd homicide of 2016.

Back on Sunday, September 25, just after midnight, officers were called to the area of 107 Avenue and 110 Street, where a man had been found suffering from trauma to his chest.

He was treated and rushed to hospital by paramedics, where he succumbed to his injuries.

On Tuesday, the Medical Examiner conducted the autopsy, and confirmed the death to be homicide.

The deceased has been identified as Christopher Lee Giroux, 46.

The cause of death is not being released.
