Snow in the north and gusty wind for Central and Southern Alberta today.

Snowfall WARNINGs are in effect for areas from Peace River east to Fort McMurray.

15-25cm of snow is possible in that region by tonight.

In the Capital Region and the rest of Central Alberta, there's a risk of some showers or rain/snow mix this afternoon.

But, we're not expecting any accumulating snow.

The bigger issue will be the wind later this morning and this afternoon.

Strongest wind will be this afternoon - sustained wind 40-50km/h and gusts in the 70-90km/h range.

Parts of southern Alberta could get gusts to 100km/h.

Wind will ease overnight.

Colder air starts to drop into Edmonton through this afternoon.

We'll get to a high near 10 midday.  Temperatures will be falling this afternoon.

Thursday stays cool with a high in the 6 degree range.

But, we'll get some sun and calmer conditions.

By Friday/Saturday - daytime highs jump back to the low to mid teens.
