A 19-year-old girl has been charged with the second-degree murder of a 22-year-old woman.

Angel Bird died Saturday after being stabbed and now Ashley Rose Sinclair is facing charges.

Bird's family members have been gathering in her hometown of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Her brother told CTV News the family has been left distraught.

"Angel is going to be very missed," said Brad Bird. "It's all just too much...I just can't believe it."

Police received a report of an injured woman near 145th Avenue and 52nd Street at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday. Investigators believe two women, who were known to each other, were arguing about a male friend when the situation escalated.

"Detectives believe the altercation was sparked by a personal disagreement over a male friend," said Patrycia Thenu with the Edmonton Police Service.

Police say the 22-year-old woman was stabbed and rushed to hospital where she died shortly after.

Investigators are still searching for a weapon, possibly a knife, and ask residents in the area of 145th Avenue and 52nd Street to check their properties for this possible weapon.
