Profile:

Ward Seven is home to quite a few mature neighbourhoods including Abbottsfield and Alberta Avenue. Those areas are currently in the process of being redeveloped and rejuvenated. It is also where Rexall Place and Northlands are located bringing thousands of people to the Ward each week. Several main thoroughfares including Yellowhead Trail and Wayne Gretzky Drive run through Ward Seven.

Key Issues:

The area has undergone tremendous change over the past 4 years. The major focus has been rejuvenating the run down parts like Alberta Avenue. There has been a strong reliance on the neighbourhood renewal program, the next focus is to get new LRT stations and make them safer as well as keeping the area attractive to visitors once the new arena is open.
