Ward Ten

Profile:

This is the smallest Ward in terms of population in Edmonton. Much of it includes ravines. Most of Ward Ten includes residential areas are established including Blue Quill, Duggan and Lansdowne. The Ward is split into north and south sections by Whitemud Drive. To the east, the Ward is bordered by Gateway Boulevard and Calgary Trail bringing thousands and motorists in and out of Edmonton every day.

Population: 60,475
Eligible voters: 45,044
Neighbourhoods: 29
Councillor: Don Iveson (since 2010)

Key Issues:

As the Utilities Committee pointed out earlier this year, there is a need for a major overhaul of the drainage systems in this Ward after the 2004, 2012 and 2013 storms. Dozens of residents have experience flooded basements multiple times. The issue will be brought before the new council in 2014.
