The city’s air quality dropped to risky levels on Sunday afternoon as the smoke from the B.C. fires made its way to Alberta.

Environment Canada shows that air quality in Edmonton went from two to seven between 2 and 3 p.m. As of 5 p.m., it is down to four – a moderate risk.

The air quality health index is as follows:

  • Low risk: 1-3
  • Moderate risk: 4-6
  • High risk: 7-10
  • Very high risk: 10+
