The province has announced the date for the next session of the legislature is set to begin, and the premier has confirmed the provincial budget will be tabled days later.

On Tuesday, the provincial government issued a press release, announcing that Members of the Legislative Assembly will return to the legislature on Tuesday, Mar. 5.

It will be the third sitting of the 1st Session of the 28th Legislature.

Minutes later, Premier Alison Redford confirmed via Twitter that Minister of Finance Doug Horner would table the provincial budget on Mar. 7.

Redford's tweet referenced the problems the province was facing regarding falling oil revenues.

On Monday, following her party's first caucus meeting, Redford held a press conference and said Alberta was losing millions each day in potential revenue each day due to the price gap between Alberta's bitumen, and American oil.
