The province has confirmed a third death associated with H1N1.

Health officials said a young woman from the Calgary-area has died from the virus. She is Calgary's first death linked to the H1N1 flu.

The woman's name and age have not been released.

Officials reported that she was admitted to hospital on June 29th and immediately tested for the flu. The next day, doctors confirmed she had the virus.

She was put in isolation but the virus progressed quickly and she died overnight.

The young woman had no underlying medial conditions.

Earlier in the week, health officials said a a middle-aged Edmonton-area woman's death was associated with the flu.

She had chronic pre-existing medical conditions and it's still not clear what role the virus played in the woman's death.

Health officials have not released the woman's name.

In late April, a woman in her 30s from the Gift Lake settlement near High Prairie, Alta., died after contracting the virus.
