Edmonton police said Wednesday that the Medical Examiner had confirmed the causes of death in the slaying of a couple found in their home north of downtown Friday afternoon.
On Wednesday, Edmonton Police Service investigators said the Edmonton Medical Examiner had confirmed Maria Nascimento, 81, and Joao Nascimento, 93, died from multiple stab wounds on Friday, September 2.
On Saturday, police said Edward Kyle Roberts, 31, had been charged with two counts each of first degree murder and break and enter, and charges of possession of a weapon and breach of recognizance.
Investigators said the accused broke into a nearby home and stole the knife he allegedly used to kill the couple after breaking into their home at some point Friday morning.
