Months after staff at a popular golf course discovered the remains of a 19-year-old woman; police have determined her death was not a homicide.
Just before 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, groundskeepers at the Riverside Golf Course found a body in a stand of trees.
The next day police confirmed the body was that of Kerry Takkiruq, 19.
Nearly nine months after the discovery, police said their investigation into her death had ended, and detectives had found Takkiruq's death was not a homicide.
Takkiruq had been living in Edmonton, but she was originally from Gjoa Haven, Nunavut.
