Edmonton police announced Thursday that Canada-wide warrants had been issued in connection to the stabbing death of a 24-year-old man last November.

Police said arrest warrants had been issued on the charges of second degree murder and possession of an offensive weapon – for Hassan Isse Ismail, 29.

Ismail is described as male, about 190 cm (6’3”) tall, and more than 90 kg (200 lbs).

Homicide detectives believe Ismail is a suspect in the death of Aden Ahmed, 24.

The fatal stabbing took place at a downtown home in the area of 113 Avenue and 94 Street on Nov. 19, 2012.

The suspect is thought to have ties to the Toronto area
