CTV is partnering up with the Heritage Festival Association to present a new award that recognizes those who promote cultural diversity in Edmonton.

"The CTV Citizen Of The Year Award helps us to promote public awareness, understanding and appreciation for cultural diversity by recognizing community leaders in this manner," said Jack Little, executive director of the Edmonton Heritage Festival Association.

Nominations recognizing a person who has contributed to help promote awareness, understanding and appreciation for cultural diversity in the city are now being accepted.

The 'CTV Citizen Of The Year' will be announced at the Swearing in of New Canadians held at the Heritage Amphitheatre on August 1st during the Heritage Festival.

Nominations must include a letter of endorsement completed and signed by two individuals by July 8th.
