After a stormy day that had the City under a Tornado Watch and then WARNING for most of the afternoon, we're in a much calmer situation today.
Yesterday was a good "test drive" for what you/I/we will do when the next round of severe weather hits.
Having a plan helps.  Knowing where to go for safety & information is key.
This weekend's a good time to get that sorted out with your family if you haven't already done so.

An area of low pressure in NE Alberta is going to stall in that region for a couple days.
Fort McMurray & Cold Lake/Bonnyville areas are under "Weather Warnings" because of the potential for 50-100m of rain in that area between now & Sunday.
That rain won't blanket the entire region, but most areas will get at least 30-60mm over the next few days.
Thunderstorms could push localized totals closer to 100mm.  (impossible to say exactly WHERE that'll happen)

NW Alberta gets some showers today, tonight & tomorrow.
That looks like it could amount to 20-40mm by Sunday for areas around Grande Prairie, Peace River.

The Capital Region gets a break for most of today.
But, it's back to rain & windy weather Friday & much of Saturday.
I"m hesitant to talk about potential rain totals for Edmonton because it's just too much of a guess right now.
GFS is suddenly projecting 50mm+  (after being closer to 10-20mm in previous runs of that model)
GEM is sticking with 25mm.
Regardless of what the final amount ends up being, the heaviest of the rain in Edmonton will probably fall late Friday.
