EDMONTON -- A popular restaurant on Edmonton’s southside has been ordered to close due to issues with social distancing, according to Alberta Health Services.
The Jollibee restaurant on Calgary Trail and 38 ave has been closed by AHS, a sign on the location's door reads.
"Jollibee in Edmonton was issued a closure order for failing to comply with social distancing requirements inside and outside the store," said a statement from AHS.
"When businesses are unable to meet these requirements, we are left with no choice but to issue closure orders."
AHS says it's working with businesses to educate them on how to operate safely for staff and patrons.
It has also been documented that inspectors noted four violations on April 10.
One of those violations was noted as having to do with “careless use and storage of mixed sanitizer on both food and food related items, soaking them was observed."
There's no word yet on when the restaurant could reopen.
