A man is dead after being hit by a vehicle in north Edmonton on March 3, Edmonton police said.

The 64-year-old man was crossing 128 avenue between 97 Street and 101 Street at 8:25 a.m. when a 2012 white Ford Econoline travelling east on 128 Avenue struck him.

The victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and died on March 8.

This is Edmonton’s third traffic fatality of 2017.

The 31-year-old of the van did not sustain any injuries, and chargers have not been laid at this time.
