Months after he was charged after he was pulled over in the Edmonton area, former Conservative MP Peter Goldring has officially entered his plea to the charge.

Goldring has pleaded not-guilty to the charge of failing to provide a breath sample.

On December 4, 2011, the 67-year-old MP was pulled over in a random check in north Edmonton, after leaving a Christmas party.

He said in January he would plead not-guilty to the single charge laid against him – saying he had only consumed one beer that night.

"If there's any time in there I might have a drink or two, my wife is my secondary driver," Goldring said in January. "[That] evening it was very clear, I felt quite comfortable driving home."

Since the charge was laid, Goldring removed himself from the Conservative caucus until the case is resolved.
