Police say more than $400,000 worth of drugs were seized in two separate incidents in Edmonton.
Members of the EDGE (Edmonton Drug and Gang Enforcement) Unit made seven drug related arrests last week in two separate incidents, resulting in the seizure of over $400,000 in marijuana and other drugs.
On May 24th, police searched two residences, one on the north side, and the other in the city's downtown, where they found more than $150,000 in cash, cocaine, 10.5 pounds of marijuana, more than 4.5 ounces of methamphetamine, 600 ecstasy pill, a bullet-proof vest, drug paraphernalia, cellphones, and a BMW.
Jessie Robert Provencher has been charged with five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance and one count of production of a controlled substance.
Leander James Yellowbird-Lane has been charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance and one count of production of a controlled substance.
In a second investigation, police searched a residence in the area of 187 Street and 64 Avenue last weekend that resulted in the seizure of 100 pounds of marijuana, a 2011 BMW and a 2008 Dodge Ram.
Ebraheem Johma, 29, 31-year-old Mohamed Chaaban, 32-year-old Lee Wayne Littau, 34-year-old Todd Neddow and 30-year-old Patrick Glen Johnson, have each been charged with one count of trafficking in a controlled substance and conspiracy to traffic.
