Police have identified a suspect in a north side stabbing from last week, and have issued warrants for his arrest.

On Thursday, April 18, police were called to the area of 81 Street and 127 Avenue at about 10:45 p.m., it’s alleged a man was assaulted and stabbed.

The man suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Over the weekend, police released photos of a suspect, believed to have been involved in the incident.

On Tuesday, police said the man had been identified as Frank James Okimaw, 27, and warrants had been issued for his arrest for aggravated assault, and possession of a weapon.

Okimaw is described as:

  • Aboriginal male
  • 170 cm (5’7”) tall
  • About 90 kg (200 lbs)
  • Small bald spot on top of his head

He was last seen wearing light gray sweat pants, a black t-shirt, white running shoes and a black hat with a red logo – he was also wearing a black sweat band on his wrist and a silver chain necklace.
