Edmonton's first-ever Chipotle now open
Dozens of people lined up Thursday morning to eat at Edmonton's first Chipotle restaurant.
The American fast-food chain opened its first location in Alberta's capital city at 10:45 a.m.
The mexican-inspired restaurant will be Alberta's third location; the other two restaurants are both located in Calgary.
The first 50 customers in line received free Chipotle merchandise to celebrate its grand opening.
"I got here about 10 minutes before opening time and I was surprised at the lineup," one customer said. "I guess I shouldn't have been. A lot of people are excited."
The restaurant is located at 4715 Calgary Trail NW and will be open daily from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Chipotle has opened 46 locations nation-wide and has more than 3,500 locations globally.
