A woman is recovering in hospital following a brazen early morning break-and-enter inside her home.
The assault took place at the Edmonton Chinese Seniors Lodge located at 95th St. and 102 A Ave. just before 4 a.m. The victim lived in one of the ground floor suites.
The extent of the 80-year-old woman's injuries is not known at this time.
Police say the suspect fled after attacking the woman. It's not known if anything was taken from the residence.
The suspect is described as:
- adult male
- approx. 6'0''
- long dark hair
- wearing dark clothes
