Edmonton police released photos of the suspects connected to the home invasion and homicide in north Edmonton October 4.

Officers responded to a report of a break and enter and aggravated assault at a residency on McConachie Blvd. at around 2:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, police found a husband and wife severely beaten. The couple was tied up and blindfolded while the suspects made demands for money and drugs, police said.

Police found 23-year-old Omar Terrence Albert in the basement with gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he died later in the morning.

Albert was one of three suspects who police believe wrongly targeted the home.

Police describe the other two suspects as follows:

Suspect #1

  • Dark-skinned male
  • 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall
  • Slim build
  • Early to mid-20s
  • Clean shaven
  • Wearing dark hoodie, dark jeans, dark gloves, and dark eye glasses

Suspect #2

  • Lighter-skinned male
  • Approximately 5-foot-11
  • Late 20s
  • Short beard
  • Heavier build
  • Wearing a dark hoodie and sweatpants
  • Police said both suspects were speaking with an accent or broken English.
