Officials are investigating after an explosion caused serious damage to a north side home early Wednesday morning.
Firefighters were called to the house in the area of 128 Avenue and 43 Street after 8 a.m. after hearing reports of an explosion and fire.
Officials said a neighbour called firefighters after witnessing the windows of the home blowing out, and seeing flames inside.
When crews arrived, flames were coming out of the northeast window of the small bungalow.
Crews gained the upper hand on the blaze quickly, and the fire was declared under control by 9 a.m.
The owner of the home was not in the house at the time of the explosion and fire.
The fire is being treated as suspicious, so investigators are working with police in their investigation.
No neighbouring homes were affected by the explosion.
