A family of five escaped a house fire in north Edmonton early Wednesday morning.

The fire at 6416 152C Ave. NW was reported around 4:15 a.m., according to Edmonton Fire Rescue Services (EFRS), whose crews arrived at the scene within a few minutes.

As they were sitting in their vehicle outside, the family told CTV News Edmonton two members escaped via upstairs windows.

Their dog also made it out OK, but they did not yet know where their cats were.

EFRS confirmed there were no injuries reported at the scene.
