A family west of Edmonton is asking for the public’s helping finding a missing father.

Gary Francis Rain, 23, was last seen nearly two weeks ago and Stony Plain RCMP said they don’t have any leads yet.

Rain’s 3-year-old daughter said she hopes her dad comes home soon.

“Daddy, it's time to go home now,” Aurianna said.

Her father disappeared after visiting his grandfather at a long-term care facility in Stony Plain.

“He said he was going to try and borrow some money off of him and go back, go back to his family,” Rain’s mom, Janet Alexis, explained.

“He said he was going to come home but he never showed up,” Rain’s wife, Rae-Lynne said, adding he had to walk to Spruce Grove to catch a bus.

Rae-Lynne said she was not initially worried when Rain didn’t return home. It was when he missed work, and his youngest daughter’s first birthday that she knew something was wrong.

Rain’s uncle, Henry Alexis, said his nephew always kept in touch with family.

“Whether he's drinking or not he'll phone, even in the middle of the night,” Henry explained.

“If one doesn't pick up he'll phone another until he gets talking to someone”.

Now the family has pleaded with the public to help them find their missing loved one.

“Just come home. We miss you. We need you,” Janet said through tears.

“I know he has his hardships in life but he's not one to give up,” Henry added.

Anyone with information has been asked to contact the RCMP at 780-962-7267.
