Despite being on a ten-game losing streak, Oilers fans packed into Rexall Place to see just how skilled some of the players are during the annual Skills Competition.

While many have been focused on the Oiler's weaknesses, fans say the event provided them with a way to see how talented the team is.

"I came out just because you can see the Oilers and you can get good seats and you know you're not going to go home disappointed because there's no way they can lose," said fan Rebecca Ryan.

Others hope the competition will help the team understand which areas they need to improve in.

"They've got to check out what's going on with their team this year," said Kelly Hauptman. "I'm here just to assess their skills, or lack thereof."

The competition tested the Oilers in six skills categories. The fastest skater on the team is Lubomir Visnovsky and the hardest shooter is defenceman Sheldon Souray.
