A 21-year-old woman is dead after a fatal collision north of Edmonton Saturday.

The crash occurred around 8 a.m. Saturday on Highway 2 about a kilometre north of Clyde, Alta., according to Westlock RCMP.

Police say a southbound car drove into a ditch, came back up on the highway, and crossed in front of a semi truck travelling northbound.

Police say the driver of the car died at the scene. The driver of the semi truck was not injured.

Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash. Police continue to investigate.
