The driver of a pickup truck is dead after a collision with a semi in northern Alberta.
   
RCMP say the crash happened Monday evening when the northbound pickup lost control and slammed into the southbound rig at kilometre 99 of Highway 63.

The victim's name has not been released. Traffic was diverted at the Highway 55 junction and at Highway 881 until the main highway was reopened around 10:00pm.

Police are warning about poor winter driving conditions in the area.
