A video of a fiery two-vehicle collision on Highway 63 been gaining attention on social media.

According to RCMP the collision happened at the intersection of Highway 63 and Highway 881 around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Kris, a Fort McMurray man, who arrived on scene moments after the incident captured the fiery incident as the fuel truck exploded.

“I came around the bend of the highway and I saw the truck. The car had already hit it and the truck was kind of sideways. The truck was sideways and there were sparks flying out from underneath it and then it ignited. It was on fire, flaming before it even came to a stop.”

He said the driver jumped out of the truck as soon as the vehicle slowed down enough. Kris then stopped to make sure the other man was not hurt.

“Then we backed up to a safe distance and that is when I started filming.”

Kris said the passenger in the car suffered a broken arm but there were no other injuries.

“Everybody was very lucky.”
