Four months after announcing her resignation as Vice Chair of the Edmonton Public School Board, Sue Huff is expressing interest in a new upstart political party.

In a Saturday tweet, Huff says she's seeking a position with the Alberta Party board, with the decision set to be made at the Annual General Meeting in October.

In a personal blog, she says the non-partisan approach of the group – which has yet to solidify its policy – is what is motivating her to step up her affiliation.

"I am impressed by their open attitude toward multiple perspectives and how they create a space for people to shed their labels and stripes," she wrote.

The Alberta Party has existed in various forms since 1985, but underwent a serious rebuilding this year that saw a shift towards a more centrist approach.

Huff is officially still on the Edmonton Public School Board until the October 18 municipal election.
