Fort Saskatchewan RCMP are on scene investigating a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 16 Sunday morning.

Mounties responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 16 at Highway 831 at approximately 3:15 a.m.

In a press release, RMCP said “preliminary indications are that a car traveling eastbound on Highway 16 crossed the median and struck a transport truck driving westbound.”

The driver of the vehicle headed east was transported to an Edmonton hospital and is in stable condition.  The driver of the transport truck was not injured.

Mounties said poor driving conditions contributed to the crash.

Traffic on the westbound lane reopened at 11 a.m., RCMP said.
