It was an emotional day for family, friends and co-workers of one of three armoured guards fatally shot just over one week ago.
The funeral service for 35-year-old Brian Ilesic took place at the Northpointe Community Church Saturday.
Ilesic, along with Eddie Rejano, 39, and Michelle Shegelski, 26, were shot and killed in HUB Mall at the University of Alberta on June 15. A fourth shooting victim, Cpl. Matthew Schuman, remains in hospital.
The guards were loading a bank machine at the mall when the shooting took place.
Ilesic had a 12-year-old daughter. The father is remembered as having an infectious smile and an enormous heart.
A funeral service for Rejano was held Friday. Rejano was a married father of two young boys.
Shegelski's funeral will take place on Tuesday.
Travis Baumgartner, a fifth guard with the same security company, is charged with three counts of first degree murder, one count of attempted murder and four counts of armed robbery.
