Police in central Alberta said a Red Deer man is facing dozens of charges, after officers searched a vehicle earlier in the month.

Red Deer RCMP said on July 7, officers came across a suspicious Toyota Camry, parked in an alley in the Mountview neighbourhood.

Early investigation led police to find a loaded firearm, and what appeared to be drugs in the car – at this, RCMP arrested the driver and obtained a search warrant for the vehicle.

When police searched the car, they found four firearms and ammunition, $6,875 in cash, cocaine, heroin, crystal meth and items used in drug trafficking.

Robert Sean Bishop, 29, is facing a total of 36 charges, including drug possession charges, and firearms-related charges.
