The man who pleaded guilty to charges connected to the deaths of four Grande Prairie teens in October, 2011 appeared before a Drumheller parole board Thursday.
Brenden Holubowich answered questions from a two-member parole board panel Thursday during his hour-long parole board hearing at the Drumheller Institution.
Back in February, Holubowich pleaded guilty to charges that included dangerous driving causing death and dangerous driving causing bodily harm.
He was charged after his truck hit a car carrying five Grande Prairie teenagers, killing four of them.
In late February, Holubowich was sentenced to three years behind bars.
It took the panel about half an hour to come up with a decision Thursday – after looking into the role speed, alcohol and Holubowich’s emotional state at the time of the crash played in the tragedy.
Finally Holubowich was granted day parole, and denied a request for full parole; officials said they want to see how Holubowich fares with day parole first.
Parole conditions include abstaining from alcohol, and Holubowich has to seek counseling for emotional issues and substance abuse.
